In Japan, Valentine's Day remains a holiday of love, it being common to give gifts in the form of sweets to others. In a piece of art posted to the official Kirby twitter account during and in celebration of Valentine's Day, Kirby is shown with many of his female friends making cookies. It is often implied that Kirby does not have a gender, or if he does, that it is a mystery. English localizations use masculine pronouns when describing Kirby, however, his gender is otherwise left vague. In Japanese media, Kirby is usually described using gender-neutral pronouns and terminology. But they care deeply for their friends and allies.
